It’s been a few months since we’ve taken a time-lapse look at Nyan and Mommy through the months. But here we are – from when Nyan was one month old until now, at nearly 28 months. My, my, how our little man has changed. Except for that cheeky look on his face that he had from the moment he was born…
Mommy’s friend Sharon had a birthday not long ago, so there was a big party at a bar/restaurant in a small village up the road. Nyan put on his Sunday finest and partied ’til the wee hours (or at least ’til 9pm). He managed to find time to pose for the camera, and to try on a pink rabbit-eared tiara thingie that was floating around the party:

He also cut a rug on the dance floor while chasing a balloon. That’s how he rolls.
Auntie Zuzu and Uncle Iain came by a couple weeks back and took Nyan to the neighborhood playground. Iain put Nyan in the swing and pushed away. And lord did the young man enjoy it. Just watch these two videos. Pure joy!
Here’s our boy, enjoying a piece of cake. And whining when Mommy moves a glass of water. Because it’s *his* water, don’t you know. And also, he’s two years old.
Every evening it’s the same routine: as 7:30 approaches, Daddy tells Nyan it’s time for a bath. Nyan responds by doing whatever he can to keep from going upstairs for a bath. Sometimes he’ll start eating more food, once in a while he throws a fit, but most often it’s something like we see right here: he just ignores us, and goes on being his usual adorable self.
Of course we indulge him a bit, because why not – but only for a few minutes. And he’ll respond by saying “Play Daddy!” which means “Come to the front room with all the toys and let’s be silly for a bit rather than take a bath.” But before long, Daddy will grab the young man, pick him up, tell him stories to distract him from the brewing mini-tantrum, and it’s off to the bath – where, it should be noted, the young man has a blast.
In which our hero visits his personal library, pulls down a book about the human body (or ‘robot’ as he says repeatedly) and goes through the diagrams with Daddy. Special guest appearances by a talking skeleton and Bob the Builder.
We had a fun Saturday morning of swimming, splashing, kicking, and (especially) jumping from the edge of the pool and into Daddy’s arms. Poor little fella was exhausted when we came home; he could barely lift his head up, though he kept insisting ‘No, I’ll wake up.’ He did, after a two hour nap – and he came back stronger than ever, chock full o’beans and energy. Here he is near the end of his lunch: dancing, singing, modeling mommy’s slippers, and just generally being Nyan.
