In January every year, there’s a big auto show at our local convention center, and just about every year, we manage to make it. Remember last year? And the year before? And let’s not forget 2015. Nyan always has a blast and this year was no different. It was maybe even better this year, since it came with an added bonus: Uncle Jeff was in town.
Nyan still loves to climb on the motorcycles:
And climb into pretty much any car he can.
Jeff enjoyed posing with the models, even if they were just cardboard:
Speaking of models, they had one girl who was doing this spinny circle acrobatic thing. (yes, there’s surely a proper name for it, but the precise word escapes your author). Pretty cool, actually.
Nyan of course had to spend lots of time pretend-driving the big delivery trucks
And Nyan just wouldn’t be Nyan if he didn’t do his funky dance-walk wherever he goes. We love that he feels confident enough, and un-self-conscious enough, to do this!
Jayden is, of course, Nyan’s BFF who moved to the other side of the island. The two goofballs still have regular sleepovers though.
And who is Iggie? Iggie is a stuffed iguana that is the mascot of Nyan’s class at school. Every weekend, a different student gets to take Iggie home, and is tasked with taking photos of Iggie doing all sorts of fun stuff. It was Nyan’s turn recently to take Iggie home. Check it out:
We’ve lived at our current apartment for several years. We know it well, and we know the neighbors well. And we love it: it’s got swimming pools, a gym, trees, green space…what’s not to love?
Nyan seems to love it too. Let’s take a look at our boy being a boy at various places around the condo complex.
Some days after school, he likes to walk along the narrow wall at the edge of the pool.
Some mornings, he’s full of energy as he heads down to the front gate to wait for the school bus.
Evenings often finds him running around with various other kids, like here, when he was running around with Howie:
Various photos from various times of day from various places around the complex:
We close with a moment of Zen, the pool on a peaceful, windy January evening.
