Back in November, when Auntie Zuzu and Uncle Iain were in town, we pulled Nyan out of school for a day and took him to Sentosa Island — the resort island just south of Singapore — for some time at a waterpark. It’s called something like World of Water or Port of Fun or something along those lines, but ’round these parts at least, we call it the Pirate Ship. Because it’s basically one giant pirate ship:
There are buckets that dump huge amounts of water on your head. There are water slides. There are water cannons. There are little splash pools. There’s a friendly and surprisingly decent cafe right there. And it’s all pretty much perfectly sized for an energetic three year old.
After a few hours of splashing and sliding and generally running around, the lad was exhausted, and he fell fast asleep in the taxi on the way home. All in all, we’d call the visit to the Pirate Ship a complete success!
